Tweety McTreason on Friday morning broke almost 17 hours of silence following ABC News’ interview with Attorney General Bill Barr to push back against Barr’s warning not to interfere in criminal cases, declaring that he has the “legal right” to do so.

Trump repeated what he’s previously declared — including just this past Tuesday — that he has the “absolute” right to comment on how the Justice Department is handling criminal cases, including cases involving his friends and former associates.

“’The President has never asked me to do anything in a criminal case,’” Trump tweeted, quoting Barr. “This doesn’t mean that I do not have, as President, the legal right to do so, I do, but I have so far chosen not to!”

Hillary Clinton, Tweety McTreason’s former 2016 opponent, blasted Trump’s claim of supreme authority over DOJ investigations with a tweet saying “Our democracy is in crisis.”

“In the last 24 hours,” Clinton tweeted, Trump has “corruptly pressured a governor to drop lawsuits against him to reverse a punitive policy change,” and has “claimed the power to personally direct the Justice Department to investigate anyone he wants.”

In the last 24 hours, the American president has:

1. Corruptly pressured a governor to drop lawsuits against him to reverse a punitive policy change

2. Claimed the power to personally direct the Justice Department to investigate anyone he wants
