Electronic Arts announced today that the launch date of EA Play (formerly known as EA Access) on Steam is August 31. The EA Access and Origin Access subscriptions were rebranded to EA Play today as previously scheduled, which EA took as a good time as ever to drop news regarding its arrival date to the Valve store.

Steam marks the fourth platform EA has brought its $4.99 per month subscription program to following Origin, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. As the recently set up subscription page reveals, except for the newest games, the Steam version will provide access to almost every EA title on the platform, as well as the usual benefits like a 10% discount on EA titles and 10-hour trial on new games.

As previously revealed, EA is planning on adding some additional perks to the subscriptions too, starting with challenges, boosts, and launch-day packs for Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21‘s Ultimate Team modes. Star Wars: Squadrons players with EA Play subscriptions will gain some in-game cosmetic items for their pilot and Starfighter as well.

There is also a fancy new EA Play landing page, which lists all of the current platforms the subscription is available on, benefits, available games, and platform-specific FAQ sections. Moreover, the upcoming beta of the Origin client and store makeover will be available to EA Play members on Origin at first.
