Tweety McTreason on Saturday baffled meteorologists after falsely claiming that Hurricane Laura was a 185 mph Category 5 hurricane offshore before making landfall near Cameron, Lousiana as a Category 4, 150 mph hurricane.

According to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, FL, Hurricane Laura made landfall as an “extremely dangerous category 4 hurricane” with winds of “150 mph” early Thursday morning.

“This was a tremendously powerful storm, in fact, when it came in, it was actually much bigger than [Hurricane] Katrina I would say, Katrina being somewhat of a landmark,” Trump said while holding a press conference in hard-hit Lake Charles, Lousiana.

“I think in terms of devastation, but this had more power. This was almost coming in at a 5. It was a 5 a little bit out offshore, it came in as 4. But 150 miles an hour, it was up to 185 at one point. I don’t know that we have ever seen that,” Trump falsely claimed.

A few minutes later, Trump again falsely claimed that Laura was a Category 5, but this time insisted the winds were 175 mph instead of 185 mph.

“So Hurricane Laura was a category four storm and it was actually a – for a little while a 5 – it was up to 175 almost 180 miles an hour. Few people have ever even heard of that. With winds, currently when it came in, it was at 150 miles per hour at landfall – damaging thousands of homes and causing hundreds of road blockages,” Trump said.
