According to a post that is currently being shared on Facebook, UK retailer Argos has decided to do something special by giving away 200 TVs that are sitting in the company’s warehouse.

Supposedly, the TVs “fully work” but were scheduled to be binned after being returned due to scratches, dents, or chips.  The post, which was published via a Facebook Page called “Argos Group” claims that the 200 TVs will be given away free to 200 Facebook users who have shared and commented on the post by the end of August.

However, the post has no connection to Argos and those who like and comment as instructed have no chance whatsoever of receiving a free TV, scratched or otherwise.  No TVs are being given away.

Instead, the post is a typical Facebook giveaway scam designed to gather likes and increase the potential reach of the fraudulent Facebook Page that published it.

Images used in the scam post have been stolen from unrelated sales websites.

Sharing and commenting and liking the Facebook Page, simply helps fraudsters built a larger audience for future scam campaigns.  Don’t be tempted to participate! If you do, you will be helping Facebook scammers and exposing your Facebook friends to the fraudulent giveaway.
