The US is still reeling from the Las Vegas shooting attack which claimed the lives of 58 people and injured more than 500.
While some of the details of the police operation at the Mandalay Bay Hotel are yet to emerge, here's what we know about how the events unfolded.
Thursday, September 28
Gunman Stephen Paddock checks into the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.
He uses the ID of his Australian girlfriend Marilou Danley.
Over a four-day period he smuggles 23 weapons into the hotel room in at least 10 suitcases.
Sunday, October 1
Singer Jason Aldean is performing in front of a 22,000-strong crowd for the final show at the Route 91 Harvest festival.
There are reports that "multiple shots" are being fired towards the concert.
Later, police reveal shooter Stephen Paddock smashed through the glass of his 32nd floor room before firing towards concert-goers.
Jason Aldean flees the stage.
Fox News reports that audio from an officer states: "I'm inside the Mandalay Bay on the 31st floor, I can hear the automatic fire coming from one floor ahead, one floor above us."
Newsweek reports that four officers head towards the 32nd floor of the hotel.
An officer on the 32nd floor says the room is 135.
Within minutes a security guard is reportedly shot in the leg.
"He shot down the hallway and hit a security guard," audio of police states saying there's a "four-man" team on the floor with "another element coming to us".
They ask for the 29th floor to be cleared saying they believe there are at least two shooters with fully automatic weapons.
It's almost one hour before police enter Paddock's room
Police ask people to stay away from the area.
Parts of Las Vegas Boulevard are shut down by police.
A SWAT team breaches the room occupied by shooter Stephen Paddock, who has killed himself.
Police find 23 firearms in the hotel room, including AK47s, a Colt AR-15 and three FN-15 rifles.
Photos leaked to German newsmagazine Bild show the weapons Paddock dropped on the floor before he died.
Las Vegas police confirm that one suspect is down.
Monday, October 2
Las Vegas police tweet that they do not believe there are more shooters.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Joseph Lombardo confirms the suspect is dead.
The death toll stands at 20, with more than 100 injured.
Police confirm more than 50 people have died, and more than 200 are injured.
Police identify the suspect as 64-year-old apartment manager Stephen Paddock and say there are now more than 400 people injured.
The death toll reaches 58 with 515 injured.
Tuesday, October 3
Police reveal Paddock had set up three cameras ahead of the attack, allegedly so that he could see if anyone was coming to take him into custody.
Two cameras were placed outside of the hotel suite, including one on a service cart in the hallway.
Another camera was placed inside of the hotel room door's peephole.
Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley is named as a person of interest.
Marilou Danley, 62, arrives in the United States from the Philippines.
She is met at Los Angeles International Airport by federal agents.
