Hello and welcome to the Thursday pvMB. Today we'll be taking a look at the Idaho Senate deeming that home owners associations can't bar rooftop solar, two former Kentucky coal mines going solar and everything else you need to see today in the world of solar

PA bill would classify nukes as renewable – Rep. Tom Mehaffie (R-Dauphin) has introduced to the Pennsylvania state house a bill which would give nuclear power the same treatment as wind and solar power under under the state’s regional portfolio standard. Mehaffie argues that House Bill 11 is needed to prevent shutdowns of nuclear plants around the state, including Three Mile Island, which is set to shut down in the fall. Idaho Senate passes bill banning solar discrimination by HOAs – They may be able to dictate every other aspect of your life, but the Idaho Senate has passed a bill which states that homeowners associations within the state cannot bar members from installing solar panels on their roof. Two coal mines to become solar plants in Kentucky – Megan Wollerton of CNET, instead of just reporting on the development, went out to Pikeville, Kentucky, to speak with RH Group, the solar company looking to convert two abandoned coal mines into a 700-acre solar power project. If completed as proposed, the project will have a capacity of 100 MW. Source: CNET
